Urgent appointments

If you feel that your problem is urgent, you should tell the receptionist and every effort will be made for you to be seen the same day.

If the doctor needs to see you in person or you would prefer a face-to-face appointment, we will invite you to come in. We cannot guarantee an appointment with the GP of your choice.

How to book

Extended Access

We also have extended access available. See our Out of Hours information.

Book a routine appointment

The practice operates an appointment system during normal surgery hours. All routine appointments are 10 minutes long. We strongly recommend seeing the same GP to improve continuity of care.

It is recommended to have just one problem per appointment. If you have multiple issues, please tell the care navigator when making your appointment so they can book a further review.

The Care Navigator taking your call will ask for some basic information to make sure you are dealt with by the best person to help you. This may be our physiotherapist, prescribing team or GPSO; it may not be a GP.

Sickness certificates (fit notes)

You must give your employer a doctor's 'fit note' (sometimes called a 'sick note') if you've been ill for more than 7 days in a row and have taken sick leave. This includes non-working days, such as weekends and bank holidays.

Home visits

All home visits are done at the doctor’s discretion. Patients may be able to receive telephone advice if this is appropriate.

If you need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 11am. After this time, we cannot guarantee that you will be visited that day.

Telephone: 01685 385339.

Our house call service is reserved for genuinely housebound patients who are unable to leave their home for any reason. Unfortunately, lack of transport does not meet the criteria for a requested home visit. Whilst we are proud to offer this service to those in need, it can be draining on resources. One single requested home visit takes the same time as 5 patient visits at the surgery.

Change or cancel an appointment

Please give us as much notice as possible so we can offer your appointment to someone else.
