Prescriptions

Please follow the guidelines and choose the right option for you.

Ordering a prescription

  • Please allow us 72 hours (three working days), to process your prescription request.
  • We do not accept repeat prescription requests over the phone.
  • Occasionally, the Acute Care Team may arrange a prescription over the telephone for collection at one of our other Practices – please check with the GP during your conversation.

When you order a prescription online, you can have it sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice. This is called a nomination.

When a patient has not nominated a pharmacy, prescriptions may be collected from the reception desk at Ivor Street Surgery between 10am to 5pm.

Medication reviews

If you have a repeat prescription, we may ask you to come in for a regular review. We will be in touch when you need to come in for a review.

What to do with old medicines

All old medications should be returned to a Pharmacy to be disposed of appropriately. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.
